The farmers are not selling their crops and driving the plunge in reserves.

Are the farmers waiting for even further devaluations before they sell their crops or is it just pure hatred for Cristina? Or are they simply Neoliberals in sheep's clothing? Is it time to redistribute the farmers land to the residents of the villas like in Zimbabwe?

Why don't the farmers want to join Cristina for the Big Win?

I guess they think that if CKF wants to f**k up there reserves just to keep the pesos rate from devaluating to where it should be, why should they sell there stuff now and see their money become worthless once the reserves are gone

They expect the dollar to go up further the farmers receive a dollar of $5,34 pesos net! They sell only what they need to survive. I would do the same. In March or April the dollar official will be around $10 pesos.

As much as I loathe CFK, I have 0 truck with the landowners in this country (and seeing her personal wealth, she's probably just as guilty). If you go to Chaco, Jujuy, Santiago del Estero... you'll clearly see who the farmers are, and I'll give you a hint: they're not driving 4x4s and dancing with ponies at the Sociedad Rural.

Whatever, carry on the debate, but calling them farmers instead of landowners is a farce.

So how are these "landowners" different from the American factory owner that uses Bangladeshi labor or the Chinese party hack whose kids drive Lamborghinis or in fact any other well-to-do entrepreneur, factory owner,or connected politician?

Not at all different, just as reprehensible. But you wouldn't call Sam Walton a seamster, nor should this lot be called farmers.

It is very difficult to provide them a political identity. Farmers, or the equivalent of the US farmers, are very fragmented, there are poor people, middle class and upper class too.
