Where Can I Buy Borax?

I saw a cockroach in my apartment as well and informed the owner. She bought a "raid max" spray against cockroaches and spiders, which you can find in supermarkets. I have seen one cockroach since then and when I sprayed on it, it did not live long. I do not know what is in the spray, but it appears to be aggressive.

You can buy Acido Borico in most hardware stores (ferreteria). Borax is a brand name. Acido Borico is the generic name for Borax. It usually sold loose in a plastic bag.
You don't have to mix sugar with it because roaches don't eat it. You have to sprinkle it where ever they walk. How it works is that the white powder sticks to their legs
& little by little they suffocate. Usually they walk back to their nest suffocating everybody else. The good thing is that Acido Borico last for ever so where you sprinkle it,
it will stay. I'm a former NY'ker and I never had a roach problem after using this technic. In my BA building they fumigate monthly. So I almost never see them.

Actually borax is not a brand but rather the salt of boric acid (acido borico). They are distinct although I believe both are effective at killing roaches. ( I believe it damages their exoskeleton and they dehydrate).
