Just returned to my apartment here, and notice that my 25 year old air-conditioner window units are in need of replacement, as well as my dish-washer that sounds like a 747 spooling up for take-off. Does anyone have information on a business that can make these replacements in a short period of time? I would like to have the place in order within a week. Is this a possibility?

Usual answers are garbarino, google or mercardo libre but there is a cult in Argentina of keeping old things going and it might actually be quicker (and definitely cheaper) to get a repair engineer in to take a look at it. Forty year old dishwasher (that is not a typo) continues in regular use after a few (more) parts were replaced about a year ago.

My suggestion: Go to the big stores (Rodo, Garabino, etc) to find what you want. Get the price and model number. Look it up on MercadoLibre when you get home and order for less.

I've done this many times...
