As a long time permanent resident living on my savings and Social Security allowance, what possible advantage would I enjoy by becoming an Argentine citizen? And Happy New Year to all..

Little advantage:
When coming back through airports, argentine nationals go through faster.
Other than that and for your particular case, no other advantages since you are living off savings and ss. You are basically living la vida loca 😜
Keep doing it!

I have temporary visa and use that line. No one says anything. Just do it.

Maybe visa free access to some countries that USA does not have? I have not checked.

Maybe it would be harder to deport you if something happened to you? Whether it's your fault or not.

Lastly maybe as a safety if/when USA implodes?

The line you avoid as an argentine citizen I’m referring to is at a check out machine that scans your passport. Similar to the ones used in the US.

‘if/when USA implodes’…
That’s an interesting thought.
It’s has been foretold that parts of the US will suffer nuclear ☢️ war.
The clearest warnings coming from the Hopi nation where their land (corner of CO TX CA and NM) will be one of the few safe areas to be around.
I should probably write a post about argentine prophecies in regards to the nuke war that’s coming up on the horizon as well. Yes, unfortunately it includes the US, all of Europe and north of South America/Mexico.
Argentina will be safe from nukes but sísmic movements and flooding will be a thing to reckon with.
I personally believe the nuke war will unfold AFTER the global economic collapse. We are looking at early, mid 30s or next decade. Tons and tons of suffering at different levels coming up.
Here is a bit of Hopi nation’s take and also Edgar Cayce’s pov.
For those of you that never heard of Edgar Cayce, the man had the ability to access readily available information from our planet’s history. Ancient hebrews called such ‘database’ The Book of Life and those of Hindu tradition called it the Akashic records.

Oh dear. I remember Jim Jones. Apparently Ireland was in his shortlist of places to survive a nuclear apocalypse but he fortunately passed over us.

Argentina has earthquakes in the west along the cordillera, and a nuclear power plant in the east, about 100km north of CABA. It’s not safe anywhere. Please go away.

After almost 20 years in Argentina, I have yet to discover or experience a single advantage that citizenship would have provided over permanent residency. The last time I dealt with migraciones was in 2010, and that was only to notify the Bahía Blanca office of my change of address.
