It already has, at least on some points. The problem is not that they have socialist policies, or because they are an anti-empire touch as many people think as to why venezuela is hated by some folks here. The problem is that the venezuela's model doesn't work. Venezuela is even worse than Argentina in many economic variables, they are just more advanced than we are in that faulty system. The worse thing.. Venezuela has the largest reserves of oil in the world. The largest. They are literally sitting on top of money and their country still has money problems, inflation, poverty, etc.

I just hope the current government realizes soon that they need to stop copying models that are not offering anything of value and are just making things worse for everybody.

When has this government ever admitted to a mistake?

Actually Venezuelas reserves are rather small and dwindling rapidly.

The proven oil reserves in Venezuela are claimed to be the largest in the world, according to an announcement in early 2011 by President Hugo Chavez and the Venezuelan government. The reported proven reserves reach 297 billion barrels (4.72×10[sup]10[/sup] m[sup]3[/sup]), surpassing that of the previous long-term world leader,Saudi Arabia.[sup][1][/sup] OPEC said that Saudi Arabia's reserves stood at 265 billion barrels (4.21×10[sup]10[/sup] m[sup]3[/sup]) in 2009.[sup][2][/sup]
