Finally!
Finally!

It seems that low-IQ president of mine has finally tired of having Brazil pulling Argentina in a tow and will now move forward (with Uruguay) to form that much clamored for free trade agreement with the EU. Hopefully this will be the first step towards either breaking up the Mercorsur, or at least isolating Argentina outside of the Mercosur.

Vázquez y Rousseff quieren un TLC con Europa, pero lo quieren ya

Luego de reunirse en Brasilia, los mandatarios acordaron que por más que Argentina no quiera, pretenden cerrar acuerdo este año el trato con los europeos

But you (and they) don't understand the Argentine "model," then!

This news also shows that the long historic automatic alignment that Uruguay had with Argentina is gone. Possibly forever. Today Uruguay is pretty on its own politically, instead of an Argentine satellite. Good for them.

Still, until the cepo disappears, it's going to be tough on Uruguay to do without Argentines.

Dilma advised by Joaquim Levy a Harvard graduate and a real "Chicago boy" have also announced that they plan to cut spending by about U$D 23 bn. to bring Brazil back to acceptable 2003 growth levels. In my view and that of the WSJ Americas /The financial voice of the Great Satan) is not exactly a low IQ decision.
Like I also said the B.A. elite's "colonia siempre fiel" Uruguay has had enough of the Kircherns already.Really they have decolonized themselves a few years back. I "dunno"..I was there at the beginning of April and they seem to be doing just fine albiet with a little help from the U.S. and Brazil.

It wasn't her decision. She had Levy shoved down her throat by Lula, who is scared out of his mind that high inflation will destroy his legacy and his party. it is widely known in Brazil that Dilma HATES Levy and they are hardly on spoken terms. If it was up to Dilma, she would turn on the printers and go full Argentina.

And wait till Uruguay joins the Visa Waiver Program while Argentines wait in line for hours in front of the US Embassy. That will help put things in perspective.

I can't wait for that to happen.

Even if it was done on Lula's advice it was a wise political decision take by someone born a poor "caiperinha" from the north east "sertao" and not from elitest self-centered Sao Paulo. As we know, the best defense is a good offense.Drop back 5 and punt ,we might say in the U.S.Moreover,Dilma having lost 13k looks great in her new pants suit. Uma beleza!
