    Dollar situation in Bolivia

Anyone have a good insight on the dollar situation in Bolivia? It's well known it's almost impossible to change large amounts of dollars from boliviano, or even withdraw dollars from USD account. I don't really understand why the dollar value in parallel market hasn't shot up like in...

    Worldwide Roaming for $12/month.

No. You can just get a prepaid SIM card with a passport, and international roaming is already enabled. To recharge online and buy a "pack roaming," you need to create an account online or download "Personal App."

    Worldwide Roaming for $12/month.

Another example of how cheap Argentina is. Personal offers Worldwide Roaming for 30 days of 2GB data for 11,750 pesos. US roaming is merely 3,100 pesos for 30 days of 1GB data. That's a lot cheaper than local contract (maybe not in India but in Canada or even Chile yes). They even offer 25%...

Anyone else "crazy" enough to live in La Boca?

I stayed in Nueva Pompeya for several months, and I did liked the neighborhood, still walking distance to Subte station, good parks, cheap local market, large hospitals, quiet neighborhood etc. I did feel more tense south of river, east toward Constitution, villas to west and east.

Traveling to BA with dietary restrictions

Argentina is probably the most gluten-free friendly country in the world. Gluten free items are called "Sin TACC" and clearly marked. Most supermarkets have a section for vegan and gluten-free items, and in Buenos Aires and large cities you can find stores and restaurants dedicated only for...

Bus ticket in Chile with official rate.

I don't live in BA but I know Turbus (Chilean company) go only up to Mendoza. I don't think you can buy bus tickets for intra Chile trip in Retiro menos in Liniers.

Bus ticket in Chile with official rate.

That's only if you buy tickets in person. Thus only at Pullman/Turbus kiosks in Salta, Mendoza (and some locations in the South). I don't think any Chilean bus company has an office in BsAs. If you're returning from Chile to Argentina, it's better to buy tickets online as you can buy in ARS...

Bus ticket in Chile with official rate.

In Argentina, they sell bus tickets to Chile in Argentine peso, and, tickets within Chile at the official rate, converted from Chilean peso to Argentine peso, thus in half the price. In Chile, they sell bus tickets to/within Argentina in Chilean peso, converted from Argentine peso at the...

Bus ticket in Chile with official rate.

Pullman bus kiosk in Salta, Turbus in Mendoza, they sell bus ticket in Chile with official rate. On the other hand, Argentine companies, (CATA, Andesmar) in Chile side do the same, so buy it online. I found it amazing that the official rate do exist, and worth posting it here.

    Crossing the Bolivian border

Driving into Bolivia is like driving into Mexico from US. I doubt any rental agency will allow it. You do need to go through Argentine immigration at La Quiaca these days.

Applying to UBA / Temporary Residency / VISA Q

Reply to 5. It takes months to authenticate documents in Canada. It's getting better according to their website but it was ridiculous right after pandemic (several months). https://www.international.gc.ca/gac-amc/about-a_propos/services/authentication-authentification/step-etape-1.aspx?lang=eng

    Argentina Versus Colombia to Retire

Yeah. No way I can afford real estate in Canada these days, and Mexico seems to be a good option still. I should have known this couple of years ago..

    Argentina Versus Colombia to Retire

Thank you, earlyetirement. I will definitely start the process as soon as I get back to Canada. I also looked up the Mexican embassy website, that just lists the requirements you already mentioned. Only difference is I need to make appointment with email so hopefully not much delay. As far as I...
