Which Has The Best Pizza: Argentina Or Italy?

Honestly, it's hard for me to believe that this is even worthy of a poll. No comparison. You may be better off comparing Argentine pizza to American (that's the USA) pizza... that probably merit's a poll and discussion!

    Moving to BA

Plenty of other nice areas. Depends what you are looking for it terms of location, price, etc. Colegiales, Belgrano, Nuñez, Villa Crespo, Almagro and, of course, Puerto Madero are all nice areas.

    Salta area itinerary recommendations

Driving, IMHO, is not a hassle but a great way to enjoy seeing a region, especially if you enjoy driving, and, most importantly, it gives you maximum flexibility. I drove with my wife and 2 young kids and LOVED the drives. I could stop when I wanted, spend lots of time wherever I wanted, etc...

    Salta area itinerary recommendations

Hi there! A lot of this depends on you're mode of transport and what you want to see. Personally, with such a short amount of time I wouldn't spend any time in Salta city. It's a nice city but not better than the surrounding settings. I would do one of 2 things: 1) Explore the Quebradas around...

    Moving this fall with kids

StuckLikeGlue (above) is a wonderful babysitter and person and would be great for you. My kids miss her! We lived in Belgrano the past year (before moving back to NJ) and it's a great neighborhood for expats living here - middle class, non touristy, close to everything, tons of parks, relatively...

Did you get your shrink on?

Headline story on the NYT website right now. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/19/world/americas/do-argentines-need-therapy-pull-up-a-couch.html?_r=1&hp How many of you actually have one and why is this so do you think?

    currency crisis and credit cards

Ummm... Exactly what other exchange rate would you expect using a credit card anywhere? Blue rate? When you use a credit card you get that bank/company's official rate which is in line with the official rate.

Is returning to the USA really desirable?

I've lived most of my life in the US and the only Walmart I've ever been to was in the mountians of Quebec, Canada... And the one at the Dot Baires mall on General Paz which was considerably underwhelming.

    Extending visa in BA

Unless you actually WANT to go to Colonia (very charming city, well worth a day trip) there's really no point in doing the Colonia run just to "renew" your visa. As has been mentioned countless times before on this forum, you overstay your visa by however much time, go to migraciones at the...

    Overstaying visa?

My wife, 2 kids and I left on Monday after overstaying our visas by 7 months. We went to migraciones at Ezeiza, paid our fines at the Banco de la Nacion and got a "Buen Viaje!" with a smile in about 1/2 hour total. No problems whatsoever and, yes, we can return whenever we like. Just make sure...

    new to the board.. bored

Not for nothing, fuccolini, but nobody I ever met from the US, especially "Philly" uses the word "cheers" for anything other than something they say before pounding down a few brewskis with some buds or perhaps a glass of wine with his/her main squeeze. You sure you're not from London?

New in BA - allow me to introduce my self

Hey Zed, Welcome and good luck to you and your fiancee here in BA. I have been here with my family for the last year and we are preparing to leave in a few weeks to go home, unfortunately. It's a fascinating, interesting city which I'm sure you'll love... though in many ways also find...
