    Work Visa Renewal

Seems migraciones is consistent (at least in our 2 experiences!) in how they handle these types of cases. I didn't need to get a new copy of my birth certificate or FBI report either. I guess the thing that most annoyed me was that the clock was reset in terms of getting to the 3 year mark...

    Work Visa Renewal

Hey Hop - sorry for the late response. I moved back to the US a month ago, so it was just by chance I checked this site and saw your post. From my experience, you will have to start the whole process over. That is what I had to do when I switched jobs in Argentina. My new employer took too...

Expat Names that sound strange to Argentines

Kiersten. Sounds like....yep...I get it all the time. Kirch... It complicated simple situations so much to the point that I just go by "Cristina" when I have to leave my name - I don´t even think about it anymore. The dog walker, my neighbors, the portera, the lavadero, my pilates instructor -...

    Used Laptop for Sale

Hi All, I purchased the above laptop from Sagehen, and put Windows on it. It is great for basic tasks and I am asking $550 pesos. I am not willing to negotiate on the price, as it is a great backup machine, so if I can't recoup the money I spent on it, I will keep it. Please PM me if you are...

    cooking items

Leche condensada - its a main ingredient in flan, so you can find it almost anywhere. Look in any chino near the baking supplies, or just ask one of the workers. Leche evaporada is the unsweetened version which is much harder to find, but you can usually get some in Barrio Chino.

    Job Offer in Buenos Aires

$5,000 GROSS is not enough to live on, especially considering that you would likely rent a furnished apartment. Even if you got a cheaper long-term lease, you would have to consider the HIGH cost of furnishing it, and consider that they don't come with basics like light fixtures or a fridge like...

How do you get your pesos into a UK bank account ?

You can get traveler's cheques. Banco Piano issues them, and it looks like they have a branch in Rosario. http://www.bancopiano.com.ar/sucursales.aspx That is surely the cheapest way. Also, Banco Piano will transfer the pesos to any account anywhere in the world via Money Gram for 2%...
