    Anyone know jewelers in BA?

As Katti says, no one in their right mind would wear diamonds in BA! I personally feel it's risking a finger to wear a simple engagement ring.

Doing business in Argentina - Our quest to manufacture leather bags here!

I really love the designs, especially the weekend bag. Yet I'm too old for anything not on rollers so I'm guessing your customers will skew young. As someone also in business here, I think you're challenges will come when you're into serious production and need to form an Argentine company...

    Recommended neighborhoods and prices

I'd look in Villa Crespo. Lots of ethnic restaurants, a young people up and coming barrio.

    Fake nails??

I use Queenies in Palermo Hollywood, they have a website. Very solid job but more expensive than my place in the states. You do have to be super careful, I tried some reputable places which were terrible before I found them.

    Apartment deposit question?

He's only renting for 1 month. We've rented several short term apartments and have had to pay a range of deposits up to 1 full month. We did get them all back. I'd suggest using Paypal if you can for the deposit to have some protection. Let's face it, all of the rental owners and their agents...

    Inflation Wingers Post Here!

Sorry Mark, it was you who said top. You are out of touch with what top looks like in BA today. Citygirl is 100% correct, you can't even come close to top for $3400 pesos. That would be the expensas. Or maybe used to be expensas before the dropped subsidies. And while you may think it's only...

Mark, can you describe these top apartments? Location, size, amenities?

    Business Vs Job

Only start a business if your customers are outside of AR and you are paid in a relatively stable currency. That said, I've run into very few expats who have good jobs in BA.

Property tax to increase by an average of 66%

There's no question that real estate is a bargain and will probably become morebof one pretty quickly, especially on the high end. I'm not surprised to see Perry's client selling the desirable property at $1000 per meter below the competition right now. That's a smart seller who wants to get out...

Coincidence, destiny, magic??? Southern cuisine in Argentina

You will clearly be very successful, but in the unlikely event you aren't, a career writing awaits you! Can't wait to check this out when we're back in BA.

Property tax to increase by an average of 66%

Thanks for sharing BlackHand. We've been poking around Lima too. From a lifestyle standpoint, it seems much more comfortable in many ways than BA. There are healthy foods everywhere, flowers instead of dog poop, so many familiar conveniences for Americans and Europeans. You do lose some of...

Property tax to increase by an average of 66%

Lima seems to be a real bargain. Great food which is very cheap outside of the tourist restaurants, cheaper rent, first world supermarkets with reasonably priced imports, much cheaper cars......

    Hotel Help for a Slacker!

Just took a look on TA. Bobo has become ridiculously expensive. Wow, talk about inflation! I think it's the season too. The deals I saw are Duque for under $150 and Rendez Vous starting at $127. Ive stayed In both and would recommend Duque as a better hotel with nice outdoor space, but Rendez...

Are these wealthy people or people spending a disproportionate amount on a party and eating empanada for the next 2 years?

    Hotel Help for a Slacker!

Just look at Trip Advisor. There are hundreds of boutique hotels in the city, many around the $150 price point, though Dec is the most expensive month. One we like is the Fierro in Hollyood. It's hip and colorful and has a popular high end restaurant. Own Hollywood is not as nice, but big...
