    This heat!

Well the humidity is not so bad, which is unusual. I don't mind this kind of heat, however I do have the air conditioner on.

    Christmas (not) in BsAs

Actually I remember seeing a few restaurants and cafes open on Christmas Day last year, some on Santa Fe and some in Palermo. In fact I went out for coffee on the morning of the 25th. Besides me, mostly people returning from the discos. Later in the day some of the groceries opened as well...

    Dental Argentina = Dental nightmares

I have been to Dr. Telo and his sister. I had no problems with their work, but after a few visits, the prices seem to rise sharply, plus his quotes for work were in dollars. You can do better! I have a reasonable dentist now and very happy.

Argentines using cards more than cash

My bank gave me a credit card and I don't even have a job, so credit is easy to get here. I was just opening an savings account and they asked if I wanted an American Express. They never even made me prove that I had any income.

    telecentro internet

I had Cablevision when I first moved to this apartment and then during a promotion I switched to Telecentro about a year ago. Have 5mg now and no problems yet. I really don't think there is much difference, just go with the cheapest.

    Rude audience in Village Recoleta

I saw that movie in Village Recoleta last night. It was really boring. More like a bad student film. I am sure I was one of the many people making comments but we did walk out after 45 minutes of that nonsense.

    Decent office chair

I bought a good office chair in Coto about three years ago. I paid almost 400 pesos for it and it had a metal base instead of plastic. It has fake leather cushions and it is really comfortable. Before this I broke every chair I bought. (I am really hard on chairs) It still works perfectly and I...

My recommendations for (decent) restaurants in BA.

Tandoor is owned by an Indian and still the food sucks, not sure why they are still in business. BA is a sad place for Indian food.

    Macys international online

According to their website, if you prepay the duties and taxes, it will be delivered, that is one reason I thought it was interesting...however I do know things here are NOT always as they should be, but they guarantee the price and delivery. I guess the worst case is you get a refund, instead...

    Macys international online

Well you could not do it before, so progress. Macys taking charge of the import process and guarantee the price. Not many others do the same. Not much progress, I admit, but I can dream.

    Macys international online

You can now buy whatever you want on Macys.com and have it shipped here to Argentina. They add the duty or taxes and guarantee that there will not be any further charges upon delivery. While you will need to pay HUGE tax and shipping charges, you CAN now order online and have it delivered...

Planning to start a Indian resturant in Buenos Aires

I don't think the cost of importing ingredients is whats making Indian food expensive. I cook Indian food all the time here in BA. The ingredients are no more expensive than anything else here. India is a poor country and most of their food is made from inexpensive ingredients. I don't know...

Planning to start a Indian resturant in Buenos Aires

All the indian restaurants BA are not very good. I have wasted money trying them all. When I lived in NYC, I fell in love with Indian food. I have fond memories of fresh breads, lovely spiced food and tasty condiments. Hopefully you know how to cook. We don't need more of the same crap.
