    Grocery Stores in the USA

I can't necessarily speak for anyone else, but what I find frustrating is exactly what Napoleon mentioned. I see so much potential for the country, but it seems as though few people here care. There is a plethora of different types of fruits and vegetables being grown in the country, but...

    Grocery Stores in the USA

hahah that is so true! I've been cooking mainly Julia Child recipes recently. It has truly scared me the amount of butter that goes into almost every dish, and it has caused me to really think about how much I want those meals. (Usually enough to keep making them, then work out like a fiend...

    Prices

Yeah, the food prices compared to Europe are not bad. We had a huge wake up call when we went to Paris and paid something like 18 Euros for a couple wraps and a water. The clothes on the other hand, absurdly expensive in Argentina for shit quality.

    Grocery Stores in the USA

Yeah, making things from scratch really does taste better. My husband and I went to Casa Saltshaker about a year ago, and we were asking him where he gets the wonderful cheeses and other creamy products in the dishes, and he told us that he makes them all in house. Now that's dedication! I...

    Grocery Stores in the USA

As frustrated as I am here with the selection, it has made me a better cook. Instead of going to the market and buying tahini, I just made my own, and because of this, I ended up finding the best recipe for hummous I have ever tried. Not having the ability to buy all these products ready-made...

    Best Restaurant in BA

I know it may sound cliche, and seriously every single Argentine I've met here says it's the best sushi whether they've been there or not...Osaka. The prices were high, but the five of us that went were wowed. Everything came out looking beautiful, tasted great, and the service was fantastic...

    Outside the city hikes?

That's so funny that you write that!! I was just looking at exactly that site for Tandil. It seems kind of far for a day trip though.... Have you been there? If so, how long did it take to get there? We have a car, so that's not an issue.

    Outside the city hikes?

Hey thanks for the tip. The place looks beautiful. It's just such a shame with such a gorgeous country that this city is located in such a boring outdoor area. Yeah, we go running around the reserve all the time. We were just hoping to find a day trip because of our busy schedules. Oh well...

    Outside the city hikes?

My husband and I are outdoor people living in Capital and we are really missing going on some good hikes. Does anybody know of any good hikes no more than a couple hours outside of the city by car? We have also been to Tigre and the islands several times. They are gorgeous, but we are looking...

    Maple Syrup

Unfortunately, as I'm sure you all know, Argentina often has products for a while and then runs dry for what seems like ages. I have been to about 3 Jumbos, 8 Discos, 4 Carrefours, and countless other smaller stores in the last couple months, and can't find any more maple syrup. If anyone has...

    French Baguette

Hey everybody. I have been searching the city for a while now looking for a real French baguette. Everybody pointed me to L'epi, but their baguettes were somewhat disappointing. Does anybody know of anyplace?
