I think this depends greatly on the make/model and whether the vehicle was commercially imported in bulk by the manufacturer for country-wide market distribution or if it was just a one-off brought over by a private dealer for "exotic" cars which had to pay an 80% import tax at the docks. These...

"...the biggest issue is that sectors hurt by Milei's economic model generate more jobs and tax revenue than others, potentially undermining a fiscal surplus prized by the government." This is a very interesting statement and a subtle detail. Receiving dollars from (tax reduced) Agro sales or...

Milei doesn't want your savings like some ghoulish vampire wants your blood. Banks, by regulation, can only lend a certain percentage of their deposits on hand. By encouraging you to deposit your savings, banks can generate more loans. Loans that could help businesses turn over inventory, buy...

You are conflating two different markets. The blue rate is dictated by the INFORMAL market, it has nothing to do with the Forex. Look to the MEP/CCL for a FX market rate. The blue rate is dictated by Cuevas and "Financieros". To hoard is a verb. It means the continual accumulation of something...

We applied for both of our small children in 2024. I'm terrible about remembering dates, but I would say it took around 90 days for each tramite. We did pay a small fee to expedite the passport. I don't recall there being an expedite option for the DNI. Keep in mind the shipping time. Our son...

The whole article is based on "Officials estimates". You have to laugh a bit about an article that questions where the oodles of savings are being hoarded during an obvious collapse in consumption, rising unemployment and bankruptcies. Perhaps "official estimates" are wrong. If people really...

Argentina certainly has drug problems. I think it depends on where you reside to witness it. Neuquen capital has an ongoing problem with Cocaine powder, given the lucrative market here among oil workers. BA has historically had epidemics of "Paco" (cocaine paste) and One Direction member Liam...

That's the gist I got as well. If it's related to a buy/sell real estate, the rule has been suspended pending a court decision. Obligatory TINLA ("This Is Not Legal Advice").

Clearly more than meets the eye. The word "illegal" implies a criminal. More than likely they are undocumented working migrants and don't have IDs. I also strongly doubt there are people living there free of charge as usurpers. More than likely the unit is under dispute in probate and meanwhile...

I'm surprised Cordoba/San Luis didn't make the list. I stop regularly in Victorica on the way to San Luis from Neuquen, and while it's a pleasant touristy stop along the ruta, the one little town that really surprised me for it's quaint beauty was San Martin, San Luis. Cheers!

You would probably relate with him a little more if you weren't so belligerently drunk all the time!! Jokes aside, I think Mr. Perry is probably a bit home sick and the first year anywhere can be a bit of a culture shock. I always tell people that the US is not better, simply different. Every...

Whoa whoa whoa, https://www.barriosansebastian.com.ar/ reports that the barrio was developed in 2006 and has 2218 houses total. You're saying that due to ballooning expensas, prices have dropped in half? Zonaprop reports that there are 794 houses for sale there, that's 33% of the entire...

For your info...

It's hard to say, I think it really is on a case by case employer. Neuquen, as a "zona desfavorable" typically get between 20% y 40% high wages than CABA. I have a friend who is a Municipal worker and gets paid $900k for a half day shift, so $1.8 Million full time. One of my tenants is a...

You're right, we certainly shouldn't. It's really a different world when you consider that even the salaries represented are not including salary package benefits. As @SlowWalker mentioned, oil workers here get stipends for food, free lodging, company trucks, and even free private schooling for...

Interbanking, which handles transactions for over 5 million bank accounts publishes statistics on average salaries, such as this below: Of course, statistics are a complicated subject. Are we talking the average as a median or mean? If we are talking about banked transactions, we can assume...

Providing your DNI down here is practically universal. I would say that's a common way for them to safeguard against any damages. I wouldn't worry about it. My only tip for you is I've been told is to block out the "Tramite No" at the front bottom of your card when sharing copies, as it can be...

Buddy, there are currently 13,443 homes for sale under $60k in Argentina per Zonaprop.

Thanks for sharing Violet, my wife went through prenatal depression and suicidal ideation from Hyperemesis Gravidarum on her third pregnancy. It was quite scary to go through as a support spouse. Not enough is spoken about the mental toll pregnancy takes.

My last transfer also came the next day, which was very unusual. It usually takes 48 hours for mine.
