What a crazy timing coincidence lol. I'll have to respond a little later. Just boarded a million hour flight from New Zealand to Miami.

Heading back to BA with renewed visa

Soooo. What I miss these last 5 months? I haven't kept up on anything lol. But randomly decided to try to renew my visa and it went through.

China visa from Chinese embassy in BA

From a timing perspective it would just be much easier if i could get it done here. I'm going to research applying online and then maybe visit the embassy if they are back to processing them.

China visa from Chinese embassy in BA

Does anyone have any experience with the Chinese Embassy here? If possible and if it could be done within a reasonable amount of time I'd like to get a visa to enter China.

    How to learn Spanish?

You are correct and it was a challenge for me initially to find Spanish subs that matched the Spanish audio. But I eventually found like 7 really good dubbed series that had a perfect match. Once you're more advanced you can start with original series from the target language. I didn't do much...

Should you renew residency before applying for citizenship at year 2?

Let me clarify and say "in my situation" it's the only thing I can really do. Register with afip and then do that and make a few hundred bucks or whatever per month. Aside from getting an actual job I see nothing that will work.

Should you renew residency before applying for citizenship at year 2?

By your standards, the US passport isn't even a tier 1 passport because it doesn't provide work rights in many countries. I'm only basing it off of countries you can enter visa free or visa on arrival. With that criteria the Arg passport is top 20 in the world. And the Mercosur access to live...

Should you renew residency before applying for citizenship at year 2?

It's not just any passport but rather another tier 1 passport. Argentina has the only 1 that is reasonable to obtain. The cheap tier 1 to buy is 1 million dollars in Malta basically. Or buy a 500k house in Portugal and then wait 5 years. If it was any passport I'd just buy one for 100k from one...

How to get cheaper flights to Brazil?

It's pointless to pay in pesos online if you're using a foreign CC. You will obviously get the bad rate. Only option is paying in cash at a local branch. I say go back to that same branch that wouldn't let you pay in cash. Maybe you got a bad rep. I've paid in cash in both BA and El Calafate...

    How to learn Spanish?

I consider myself a master at learning languages. Although the first couple weeks are full of shock and complaints lol. As I see it there are 4 main factors to learning a language and they all make up 25 percent of the battle. I'll also admit that I've never formally studied a language in a...

    How to learn Spanish?

People don't understand how true this really is. All dialects of English are pretty close. There is no one who natively speaks English who can't understand English in any of country. Compare that to Spanish, German, Arabic, or French where even natives can struggle heavily with other dialects.

Having a surprisingly hard time selling an iPhone in CABA

Orrrr... if they are fans of android then they buy the S series which can be significantly cheaper here. I saw the foldable phone here for like 800 cheaper than the US. I don't think even Samsung themselves could sell an 1800 phone at the same price here. The iPhone is looked at differently...

Should you renew residency before applying for citizenship at year 2?

I probably wasn't clear. I know the system won't allow a person without a DNI to apply for citizenship without a lawyer. But even with an expired DNI you can apply on your own. Is that the case? Now I personally would not apply without a lawyer if I had an expired DNI.

Why would anyone come to this country in this century?

Thanks for reminding me. I hate snow. When does the first snowflake drop? That's when my 3 month vacation starts lol

    More new arrival questions

Trust me I had the same thought process. Even though you can view the Argentine site and see "a price" in pesos, you have to realize that the owners are setting the price in dollars and the site is converting to pesos. It's not the same as going to like an Argentine airline site where the prices...

Should you renew residency before applying for citizenship at year 2?

Are you saying that one could apply without a lawyer using an expired DNI?

    More new arrival questions

Yes there is a way to beat the system and get Argentine pesos. You can vpn and go to airbnb and it will show ars. Keep in mind that it is converted since owners actually price in dollars. So you're not actually beating the system at all. I'll go back to my corner of shame now.

Entering and exiting Argentina after applying for citizenship prematurely

Yeah I know I leave without issue. My main question was whether I would need to remain in the country full time if I applied early. Or could I just still come and go as I pleased. Would I be classified as a tourist or one of those other statuses since I'd have applied already?

Should you renew residency before applying for citizenship at year 2?

I had spoken to a lawyer and he seemed to mentioned that I would need to have passed some classes even if switching schools. But to be honest he didn't seem too sure. So I don't really know. Can you confirm that worked for your friend?

Entering and exiting Argentina after applying for citizenship prematurely

I'm trying to determine if I should completely abandon ship, or apply after 1 year. For the people who apply for citizenship early after 1 year of residency, how exactly are they classified while entering and exiting the country? Would you then just turn back to tourist status? Would it be a...
