And yet the CABA government and opulent Porteños are still public enemy number one with their comparatively open policies that are allegedly “anti-cuarentena" and "irresponsible" (at least according to some in the government and their fans) despite having been able to keep the situation fairly stable within CABA for a decent amount of time so far.
I think this explains a lot about the political charades from the Federal Government and Provincia. CABA has the most private hospitals (and a huge chunk of the privately insured patients) and specialised staff in the country, so its public system is unlike to be as "burned out" as the rest of the country - in-fact CABA has mostly maintained ICU occupation of the public system at around 60%.
What this means in the long run is that it will end up looking much better and much healthier compared to much of the country as a result. Meaning, Alberto and Axel face impending humiliation that their much celebrated shopping spree for ventilators, ICU beds and modular hospitals which may have ended up as a an expensive farce since they did not have the staff to staff them in the first place. Combine this with imposing harsh but ineffective policies that caused economic and social carnage and it spells an electoral catastrophe.
Curious to know what happened to the Cuban doctors we saw shipped in back in April and if they are actually trained and capable of supporting ICU patients by now?
