Most expats make the visa run by crossing the river to Uruguay. I see that the 1 hr. trip is now nearly 100 dollars. I had one beer last night that was 10 pesos a glass for domestic. Maybe it doesnt do any good to point out the soaring prices, but in 2 or 3 weeks, we can chat about how things are even higher. The rise is like a balloon thats slipped out of your hand.

I think the best way to look at it for expats who live the Argentinian Dream (i.e. live like argentines) versus living here like a colonial expat on a wad of dollars, the best way to see it is to just think the prices are dollars. Perhaps its not scientific, but think of the passage to Uruguay as 250 dollars rt, and the glass of beer as 10 bucks, and that small bag of Snicker bars as 18 dollars, and that medium sized jar of instant coffee (the one with no sugar ground in) as 19.90 dollars!

Why? Because thats how it looks when you live like an Argentine!
