Hi all
I’m planning a short trip (just over 2 weeks) to B.A in early March next year. I have been checking out accommodation through buenosairessay.com web site. A quick question, is this a web site that people here have used or would recommend? Any advice is welcome.
Also, having looked into it Palermo and Belgrano appear good places to stay for the time I am there. Would anyone have any feedback on those suburbs, what are they like to live in, local sights, transport wise, etc.? Is there another suburb anyone would recommend?
Fire at will chaps :)

Hi Nikki,

You can also try hostelworld.com. Palermo and Belgrano are nice neighborhoods; Belgrano is farther from the city center and Palermo offers all the trendy things (clubs, restaurants, etc). San Telmo is very charming and Recoleta is beautiful.

Transport consists of bus, subway, and taxi. For the bus you pay with 2 pesos' worth of coins or go to an OCA office (they're everywhere and they're purple) and request a rechargeable SUBE card that you can use for both the subway and bus (if you have the card, the bus costs much less, between 1.10 and 1.25 pesos). Check out the website "Mapa Interactivo" to help you get from Point A to B while you're in BsAs.

Good luck! Don't ever carry your passport except when you go to get the SUBE card, you'll need it.

Hi Nikki,

Stehpensonle is right about the neighborhoods. I stay with my family (2 young kids) in Belgrano. If we were without them we would definitely have stayed Palermo for all the bars, restaurants and good vibe. Try ww.airbnb.com for apts. It is a good site we used before,

never stay in Belgrano. Its the most boring place on earth!

If you want to simply party, try to stay at Barrio Norte or recoleta

Many thanks for the advice guys, and the web site, I'll be sure to check it out.

Ceviche, methinks Belgrano will be a happening place than anywhere in country Australia lol, now that is boring!! :D

Thanks a million all :)

Sorry I didn't explain myself, country aussie means anywhere outside the main metro areas. I have to agree, the cities are good.

I used bastay.com to find two apartments and I didn't have any problems with them. I reserved and paid the deposit (via paypal) from Canada-- the apartments were both great, considering what I paid for them. And the locations were good (Centro and Recoleta).

A representative of bastay.com met me at the apartment, introduced me to the landlord, helped me with the contract (in Spanish), etc. Both landlords were great as well and I got my deposit back on both places!

So yes, I would recommend them. If I return to BA, I would probably use the them again.

buenosairesstay is a British owned company and thier sales guy is from the US, so I dont think you will have problems with them.

If you want boring please try where I live , Olivos !!! Belgrano is Times Square compared to out here.
