I havent got my SSI retirement payment since January. i contacted SSI after a more than 3 hour wait on skype and was told payments stopped due to no form SSA7162. i told them i never received form, that mail service here in cordoba where i live is very unreliable. they said they could only mail me another form , could not email me form. i waited 2 weeks, no form in mail, then contacted embassy in BA who did email me the form and instructed me to print sign and mail back the form to them in BA. i mailed the form certified mail with correo argentina on April 1st ....and it never made it to embassy. Correo argentina said " no one was there " at delivery and form went to Italia post office in BA. i have sent multiple emails to embassy asking what to do next and have had no response. the phone number for help other than emergency number listed on web site 54 11 5777 4533 but when i try to call.... " no longer in service". all i can think of to do is fill out a new form and get it to embassy...Can anyone suggest a better way to get form to embassy other than correo argentina? or any other advice to get help from embassy?

I had this same issue last year. I was told by a person at Correo that they do not deliver to the Embassy, was told to use DHL. I used DHL, got a delivery confirmation and the Embassy said that they did not receive it. I brought the form to the Embassy and had to show my passport. I would NOT try to have someone else bring this to them. They will want to ensure that you are still alive and not be having someone else trying to extend your claim.

And to add further insult to injury, I was also told that I had to have the form in a Brown envelope, sealed. When I went to the Embassy I had all the paperwork, showed the people at the gate ... you do have to go to the alternate gate area ... and then sealed it, waited while my passport was inspected and then went along on my merry way. It certainly may seem like a pain in the Azz but it was better than the alternate option ... go without getting the checks. Once resolved the backlogged checks and current were all deposited together. It took less than two weeks to get them.

thanks all for your imput...and it seems like my only option is to come to embassy in person? i am 78 and not in great health...how about me using dhl to send form to usa ssi office? cheaper than a plane ticket to BA

it is strange that embassy directed me to mail the form to them if correo does not deliver to embassy??

The suspension of payments has happened to me several times. This year I was able to resolve the problem without actually missing a single monthly payment.

If you have ave a copy of the original form (preprinted with your name, address and SS number) you can go to a local kiosk that can scan both sides of the form and send each of them (in PDF format) to your WhatsApp.

Then you can send the two pages (front and back) of the completed and signed form to someone in the USA who can print both pages and mail them directly to the SSA. It should not take more than two weeks for all of the delayed payments to be deposited into the designated account.

PS: With the help of my sister in law I have done this successfully three times. The first time I sent photos of the form that I took with my cell phone. I chose to send the pages in PDF because the details of the scans were better.

This is the address (copied from the original return envelope) that I provided to my sister in law to send both pages of the form after my SSA payments were suspended:
