Advice sought on Netbook purchase

Hi,
I´m in S. America for four months and staying in BA for just over one. I´d like to purchase a netbook (basic version as cheap as possible) for internet access over my time in S. America. Any advice on type / places to purchase and average prices greatly appreciated.

Hi Aoife,

I am selling mine, it's as good as new. it is a netbook, but has a larger screen and therefore comfortable keyboard. It'll run for about 3h on battery.

Hey,
Argentina is not the best place to find a cheap price for electronic products. If you are going to Chile, better buy it over there cause is way cheaper.

Definitely not the place to purchase electronics. However, the store chain Garbarino is where we make all of our electro domestic purchases. They typically have a promotion going. If you bought an Acer there you will end up paying more than you would outside of the country but if you are in a bind its a good source.

Also if you are feeling adventurous and your Spanish is really good you can go to the mall on Calle Florida 559 (approximately). It is called Galleria Jardin. It's mostly an electronic mall and I have used it numerous times over the years for converters, back up batteries, routers etc. Shop around there, talk offers with the guys, they occasionally make deals.
