A man was pulled off rather forcibly from an AA flight in Chicago and they issued a statement saying 'not in accordance with our standard operating procedure', which must be the understatement of the year, surely. Hired thugs more like it and I'm glad I'm flying BA in June.

I think you meant to type UNITED AIRLINES, instead of American Airlines.

Yeah, it was the airline I'm flying to the US on in a couple of weeks. I'll be watching this story closely. The second-wave reports say the guy was removed to make space for United employees who needed to deadhead to their next job.

My question is: did this guy have a boarding pass with an assigned seat, and is that where he was? If so, he may be the next owner of United Airlines.

Ben, do you have any insight?

Really nice. Typical aggressive behavior by US security people.

It seems like United didn't offer enough money to motivate someone to take a later flight. So they resorted to brute force instead.

The whole problem stems from overbooking which to me is a weird concept since they sell more seats than they have.

Sounds to me like a legalized version of "The Producers".

Here is some more information about the Friendly Skies of United. Take a look at the last video. The passenger is covered in blood and traumatized saying repeatedly "just kill me" after being attacked by the United thugs. I wonder if the United employees who finally got their seats enjoyed their flight. Did they get free drinks as compensation for the two hour delay?

Years ago, I gave up my seat on an overbooked flight from LAX to SF0. I was offered a voucher for a free flight to any place Continental Airlines flew,, except Hawaii and Europe. I went to Riode Janeiro and got frequest flyer miles.
Ah, the good old days.
I am now in Hanoi, Vietnam. What a dreadful place !!

.From what I read online about the guy who was kicked off the United flight his name was chosen by the computer. He was apparently a doctor who had to be at his destination at a definite time
I hope that he wins a law suit against United for really big bucks.
