American Way Of Birth, Costliest In The World...

Not sure how this turned into an abortion debate, but US healthcare is expensive. Big surprise. It's too bad people are so caught up in the coverage aspect that basic costs are ignored.

And if want to give birth in a hospital for free, just say you're a single mom and have no insurance. Total hospital bill: zero. (This was done by a family friend who is living in the US illegally. She lied and said her husband was her brother so that he could be in the delivery room.)

Why does every moralist assume that strong response equals anger. And just to further the thought, there is a generation or two that really needs to grow some major balls and get very angry about the rights and freedoms that have been taken away, modified and neutralized by some asshole from Texas.

Are you kidding me? Who said it was about morals. Now I'm a moralist because I don't like murder. Great... I support gay rights, I support all freedoms (that don't affect a third party), I totally support most causes that would make a tea partier hate me. I just don't like big govt, abortions, and irresponsible spending. Now you mentioned the asshole from TX, again, are you trying to say we're all the same? Let me tell you something about the asshole from TX, he may have indeed been an asshole, but at least he always said what he meant and meant what he said, he did lie about Iraq, but for the most part he always did as he said (and yes, we would have been better off with a different president during those 8 years), the thing is you know... the asshole from HI, I mean IL, I mean.... never mind.... Obama has been the worst liar ever, he has continued to take away freedoms, out of the main problems Bush created, he has continued to create a monstrous police state, and the economy... come on how long do you think the so called recovery can last? You need to think before you come up with empty replies and ridiculous generalizations.

My first wife aborted our first child in 1983 for the simple reason that 'she wasn't ready' or 'it wasn't convenient' and 'she had to consider her career'.
I tried everything to dissuade her, absolutely everything but I was finally beaten when her parents backed her to the hilt.
I had never been pro abortion, even before that awful episode, neither had I been a fanatical pro-lifer.
My instincts were leading me and all my instincts said NO.
I still feel the same, but time and the passage of life have helped me become a realist.

Or you could be like me and have a kid to a horrible Portena that makes your life a living misery everyday.
Now I am stuck in country and city where I cannot leave till my kid is an adult.

OUCH!

Don't ask me. I have no clue how the mind of the average Republican works. I confess to making a generalization, but those are typically the positions of your average Republican politician/voter. Especially in TexASS!

I think you are probably right about that. That's why I can't stand the Republican party--often so inconsistent (but Democratic party is too).

Another "pro life" Right wing asshole form Texas spouting in the name of God. Give it rest. Women have the right to make a choice and a right to be responsible for that choice. End of topic. It is not up to your God or any one of 5000 other gods.

What makes you think I am right wing? I don't appreciate being labeled so quickly. You have no idea what I think about any other issue than abortion.

I will become pro-choice if you can show one thing: why is the unborn not a human being? That is what the real question boils down to here. If the unborn is not sub-human but is human, then it is morally wrong to kill the unborn--the same thing as murder. If it is not human, then they can be extinguished (it would no longer be murder). What makes you think the unborn are not human?

At what point is it human? As soon as the sperm enters the egg, when it divides into two cells, 4, 8…

no one cares when they eat eggs for breakfast killing potential chickens!

Alternatively, no ones cares if they eat chickens either. We do care if you kill a human being and eat them. A chicken is not a human being. Not a good analogy here.

Except they are not babies.
More a cluster of cells or something that even has gills like a fish at one point.

The true argument is how many weeks should you be able to to have an abortion.

At least you at last have given your argument. I agree with you. If the unborn are not human-beings, then we may extinguish their life. But to say that something is not human because it is a cluster of cells does not prove that it is not a human. We also could be considered a cluster of cells. Is it because the unborn or smaller? The size of an object does not make it of less worth. In fact, we think that babies, which are smaller and weaker, should be protected more. What reason do you have for thinking that the unborn are not humans, or less than human?
