Many scams 'pay first' with PayPal etc. They then ask for gift cards to be sent . After this they get a chargeback from PayPal and get their money back. Classic scam model.

The fact that you seem to be a tech related company but are unaware of this scam which is very prevelant in that industry makes me even more suspicious.

Oh an by the way, I did check your company with several online trust aserrors, most said 'new company, not enough info available'. So there is that too.

Also, you say you are a student in the US but don't write like a native. This on its own doesn't mean you are a scammer, could be a foreign student etc. But alongside the other elements of I) first time poster ii) clear resemblance to scam methodology iii) new company with little track record. ... Well, you get my point.

Could be legit, I won't rule it out, but it looks shady af. Imo
