I just seen on Facebook that the chili cookoff is on again.

Last year I arrived late, but still managed to get my fill of chili.

Makes a good day in BA when you can eat spicy food and drink beers on Sunday.

I am new in town and excited to hear about a chile cook off, i am sure missing some spice in my food. Can you share any more information?

(I don't understand why there are two, but maybe one is for the official page and the other is for the specific event...?)

WHEN: Sunday, June 16th, 2013 from 2pm-6pm
WHERE: Pagana Club (Vicente Lopez 2134)

about:

The BA (Charity) Chili Cookoff was founded by a few chili-lovin´ expats looking to celebrate a little piece of home as well as doing some good in the process.

Description:

The BA Chili Cookoff is a celebration that gets people together for a good cause while enjoying some great food. The Chili Cookoff is by all means a contest. We rake the fields of expats and locals looking for cooks who would like to participate. Their chili will be judged by endless amounts of wanna-bies to professional judges to fellow cooks. The chili pot and its cook will also be subject to a People´s Choice award.

General Information:

Each event is comprised of an endless number of chili cooks who are required to deliver a minimum of 5 liters of chili on the day of the event. Each cook is allotted his or her own booth for serving their home-made creation. All chili must be prepared from scratch and served naked. There will be NO GARNISH allowed (e.g. Cheese, onions, salsas, guacamole). All ingredients must be placed in Chili prior to its arrival. More details to follow. Please reference http://en.wikipedia....i/Garnish_(food) if your in doubt.

All proceeds from from event are donated to a chosen charity; benefiting local people and interests.

Excellent! Now off to find squirrel meat for my chili. Huh? Why yes, I'm from Alabama. Why do you ask?

Quick question - do we need to disclose the ingredients? ;)
