Wow, the plot thickens...everything is happening so fast. What is not great news is that the US just threw most of it's diplomacy out the window for it's nationalist crusade. While the US carries 16% of the IMF council vote, there are many many other countries that may no longer care what the US endorses.

I don't know that many countries can just ignore the US. And just how important is Argentina to the nations that pay into the IMF?
