mar azul or mar de las pampas have just beach and woods, and a family athmosphere. If you go by bus, you can buy the tickets on line through www.plataforma10.com instead of going to the Retiro bus station. Santa Clara del Mar, 20 km north of Mar del Plata is similar to the previous ones.

If you prefer to cross the river and go to Uruguay, I recommend Piriapolis, 40 minutes away from Punta del Este, or further East from Punta del Este, la Pedrera, and the other little beaches towards East, closest to Brazil.
