and then you're ready for another meal!
For prepping dried beans you don't actually have to wait over night -- wash the beans, place them in a pot with 3x the amount of water, bring them to a slow boil, then boil for a few minutes or so, turn off the heat, put on a lid, and allow them to soak for an hour. The time depends on the variation of the bean. With larger alubia beans I usually let them soak for about 4 hrs.
