Being An Argentine In The Us Is Tough

Brazil recieved a lot more european immigration than Arg & Uru. A LOT MORE. In fact, during the 1890 crisis, lots of italians went from Argentina to Brazil. You also have german colonies in South Brazil (Santa Catarina).

The thing is that all that people in Brazil do not represent a high pércentage of the population, they are minorities, while in Argentina 46% has italian blood. They are half of the country!!

And Im not sure that Uruguay is homogenous, the one thing that differences Arg from Uru is that in Uru you have black people, a big percentage (a lot bigger than here), with its culture, drums, murga, etc, a lot more clearer Africans, or Brazilians, influence. You have a lot of black people. A lot means a lot. Its not all european.

And the Europeans really embrace the Argentines as one of their own. They don't see you as Latin Americans at all. Argentina is viewed as an EU country that just happens to be in South America.

Wow, so according to the Real Academia I am a Latina, too. I have always checked the White/Caucasian box in my job applications, turns out I was lying!

I don't see why people are so concerned with race/origins. If I ask, it is just because I am curious to learn about family histories and migrations.
Nowadays Italians are all about "Arabian" immigrants who ruined Italy - I wonder if they have ever asked themselves if they don't have any North-African blood in them given their appearance (especially in people from South Italy). Seeing the world based on your own family history of just the last 100 years is so biased I can't see why people give it so much importance.

I have always wanted to submit a sample for a DNA test to find out more about my history, but I am not sure there is such a service here in BsAs.

Don't we all come from Africa?

As a species, yes. However, because we are a very dumb species, we care too much about the phenotype, so we think we are very different from Africans because we look a little different. Our species initially came from Africa, but as our ancestors spread, the phenotype changed, as we adapted to the different environments around us. So we developed distinguishable appearances that today we classify as Caucasian, Mongol, Congoid, etc.....All very superficial by the way, in terms of genetics.
The point is that people from Southern Italy, Spaniards and Portuguese are the results of recent inter-breeding between caucasians and congoids.

This thread is a joke right? I know quite a few Argentinians who lived in the USA thats how I came to visit here, thought it would be nice, didn't expect the thievery, curruption, or censorship ive seen so far.But I still like many of the people ive met.

Don't worry. Over time, as you start to accept that this is a white, European, anglo-saxon country, with nothing in common with the rest of Latin America, you will begin to feel better about it, and the corruption, thievery and censorship with disappear. Just like that.
