Bernie cannot win. He has some great ideas, but he will never win. I will vote for the person who will beat the giant orange one. Voting for Bernie is voting for the other side.

Yea no kidding split the vote and we get for more orange years.

I do not understand why some people wants to install a (socialist) system in the US, when they failed abysmally everywhere it was tried.
This includes Russia (or Soviet Union), Red China, North Korea, Camboya, Viet Nam, East Germany, Poland, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Rumania, Cuba and now Venezuela. Unless they know something all this other people did not.
And lets not forget that Trump want to build a wall to keep illegal immigrants OUT, but East Germany buil a complete wall with machine gun towers all around their country to keep their people IN.

The only difference between Nicolas Maduro and Bernie Sanders is that the former speaks spanish.

Thanks to the idiotic socialists in California, gender can no longer be used in setting car insurance rates. So let me get this straight. Even though decades of data prove that males are riskier drivers, auto insurers in California can't adjust their rates to reflect that increased risk?

Absolutely ridiculous. Bernie Sanders and the other socialists will ruin the USA if given the chance.

There are probably a hundred "real" socialists in the USA. Nobody is actually proposing installing a "socialist" system in the USA.
If you look at Sander's history as a mayor and congressman, he has not actually nationalized a single company, instead consistently working with evil capitalists thru out his entire career. Hah! Some Socialist he is. I know a couple of old hardliner Socialist Workers party types from Berkeley in the 60s, and believe me, they consider him practically right wing.

I read a very interesting article yesterday about a socialist success.
https://www.thenation.com/article/socialism-milwaukee-democrats-2020/
For much of the 20th century, Milwaukee was run by socialists—and Time magazine called it “one of the best-run cities in the U.S.”

I'm for Bernie Sanders. That's why I started the thread. I don't care to read posts by those who want to debate politics. I'm not interested in hearing your reasons why you believe he can't win. In a little less than one year I will vote for Bernie in the Illinois primary. I am looking for other like-minded voters supporting Bernie's campaign.

Publishing a political post on a general forum, and expecting the participants to accede to your wish for agreement or silence, is the epitome of naivete.

May the US be saved from the socialists like Bernie.

Personally, speaking as an old white man, I am done voting for Old White Men. I will be voting for a woman for president in the next election, hopefully one of color, but I will wait and see who the likely choices are.

Well, depends what you’re actually talking about. If we’re talking about actual communism, sure, that list makes sense. But we aren’t, so it doesn’t.
There is a very long list of countries not even close to your list, which have single-payer health-care systems. And a robust social net. Canada does not strike me as belonging on your list. Nor do the Scandinavian countries. Or several other European ones.
I do not care in the least for Bernie Sanders’ positions nor for the man himself, but some of the rhetoric here is disingenuous.
