Bravo Argentina

I guess 67% of the vote was enough to see what was coming. I was expecting to at least wait until 22:00 to see which one would throw in the towel and congratulate the other.

Well, curiously, I feel somewhat relieved that Scioli didn't win but for some reason I'm not all that animated about Macri either...

Seems to be norm in politics these days trying to figure out which one is going to be the least damaging. I dont see Macri as a savior especially with the mess left by the insane Ks and their mind warped brain washed supporters.

The solution is in the hands of Macri and the people of Argentina. More than anything I hope Macri actually works towards lessening corruption and the people move that way with him. I hope he's more like the CIA cable Bradly posted a few days ago and not like Matias and Bajo think he is.

The vote was a guilty verdict for CFK as much as anything:

I always had in my mind that Cordoba was not so Peronist as many other places, at least the city. Granted that was an assumption on my part, not based on direct knowledge. One of my best Argentine friends, and a long-time employee (though he no longer works for me), is from Cordoba city and he and his family are free-marketers, and from discussions with him I'd always felt that this is a more prevailing feeling overall, not just within his family. I've been there a few times, met his family and people they know and it always felt quite different to me than here, as far as certain attitudes go. I even tried to convince my wife to move there at one point, but she had too much invested personally here.

He left Argentina about two years ago to live in Scotland because he couldn't stand the way his country was. Who knows, maybe he'll come back in a few more years?
