I searched but the last topic about it is from 2015. I have tried many types here and it's all this super fine mashed up style it's horrendous. I need a brand of canned tuna with actual decent sized chunks of tuna in it? Can anyone who likes tuna recommend what you think is the best?

I am craving a toasted tuna and cheese sandwhich

You're probably buying the tuna that’s “desmenuzada” (shredded). What you want is the one labeled “en trozos” or “lomos”. Those have the bigger chunks. From the tuna cans sold in Coto, you should probably try La Campagnola.

Great theres a Coto on my block, should be eating my sandwhich in 20 minutes. Thankyou!!

Actually for a tuna salad sandwich, the shredded "Ciudad del Lago" brand tuna with plenty of mayo suits perfectly. For a third of the tuna chunks price. Also try the tuna salad stuffed paltas .

Something about the way it's shredded into microscopic pieces and also floating in liquid just makes me queasy. Like watery mashed potato

The best: Lomitos de Atun La Campagnola. Comes packed in oil or water. I find oil-packed tastier, just wash excess oil out by rinsing in warm water.

Atun desmenuzado is dismal: just processing-table leftover crumbs.

I like the Gomes da Costa (Brazilian brand, available at Coto) and Makro brands as a solid value in tuna. Last time I went to Makro, I got their house brand en trozos for around 2k pesos/can, which isn't a terrible price

If you buy solid chunks you end up breaking it in smaller pieces to mash with mayonnaise for the tuna salad spread...!
Start with the shredded tuna add mayo and gherkins in smaller pieces plus some aceto balsamico et voila your tuna spread, for a reasonable price.
