Central Bank seen seeking weak peso under Fernández

What were the other items?

If you look at the actual data, Argentina is exporting the same items now as they were with CFK.

https://oec.world/en/visualize/tree_map/hs92/export/arg/all/show/2017/ , you can play around with the years here and see the changes (or lack of changes) in what Argenina has exported over the last 10 years.

Soybeans, soy oil, soy meal, corn, wheat, bovine products, cars, delivery trucks, some minerals...everything else is at an insignificant percentage.

Macri just wanted to attract foreign investors and tried to maintain at least some appearance of economic stability. Reasonably stable national currency was a part of this play. And it didn't work out so well, as we all know.

This is very unlikely to happen with peronists in charge.
For one moment I remembered that Macri was sentenced for contraband and I though all what he did was for usd fligh and tax fraud, but on a large scale because this is what the Macri family has been doing for the last 40/50 years.

Cars and pick ups among others that now are in crisis:

You said with a weak peso it is easier to export, which is true. But this article that you cite is saying why car exports have been falling this year despite a weak peso. The causes are building car models that have little demand, high taxes and a high dependance on a weak Brasil since that's where 65% of the car exports are sold.

How does an even weaker peso address those issues?

They are not investing on developing more competitive cars. In fact, Honda is closing and Volskwagen was producing the Amarok only here and with MM they started producing it abroad.

If the car manufactures aren't keeping up with consumer tastes, what does that have to do with MM, CFK or any other politician?

What should FF do to stimulate the export of cars? The article says much of their costs are in dollars so a weakening peso doesn't do anything to benefit them. Lowering taxes might help, but the tax burden only went up during CFK's admin, so I don't see that as a possibility.

Your argument was that under CFK, Argentina exported lots of things besides agriculture. You saw the data in 2014 Ag was 58% of all exports, in 2017 it was 60%. It's virtual the same.

It doesn't matter if it's CFK, MM, or AF , the economy is structured around the export of agricultural products. Argentina will forever be at the mercy of commodity market fluctuations until the law are changed to give companies a reason to invest here.

Well, CFK focused on producing many of the goods that are imported now, in Argentina. This save a los of reserves in usd because they produce in pesos while people has jobs and the internal economy works out. If you think that there is no difference between MM and CFK and FF, well....

Never said there is no difference between MM, CFK, and FF. I said it doesn't matter who is in power - Argentina's economy is structured around the exportation of agricultural products as seen in the data.

Well, now this is a different argument from before. First you said they exported a lot more things than just Ag under CFK, now you're saying that many more things were produced within Argentina that are now imported.

If you look at the data again....you see in 2017, Argentina imported $66.5 Billion and in 2013 they imported $73.1 Billion worth of products. Most years CFK was actually importing more than Macri. Of course the economy was better then, which could account for the increased spending in imports, but it doesn't seem to reflect what you're saying.

The peso will weaken in 2020 to at least 100 pesos per dollar imho .
