Citibank to drop consumer banks in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia.

Is this going to affect US citizens living here?

Nitale:
Yes.If they have an account in Ctibank Argentina.I am a U.S. citizen and Argentine legal resident .
I have 2 accounts in Citi here. One in AR$ and another in U$D.
I'm just VERY thankful that Citi waited for the change in gov't to make this sale
It should take about 6 months to get the approval of El Banco Central
Personally,if I get to choose,I'll switch the accounts to Banco Galicia
If U$D accounts are allowed there and then.

Banco Galicia has USD accounts (and had them in the past even during the K years). They are usually bundled in account packages together with Peso accounts and debit and credit cards. With the cepo lifted you can now easily exchange Pesos <-> Dollars between your accounts online.
