It seems that the current El Niño phase of the ENSO cycle has come to an end, and we're now in a neutral phase, waiting for La Niña to come back in Spring:

So I would expect the wetter conditions we experienced since this summer would gradually come to an end, and when La Niña comes back, we would see a return to hot, dry conditions (drought), with implications for agriculture and the harvest next year. Not so many mosquitos, at least, though

Your fear of bumper harvest conditions next year is probably groundless.

I was thinking more of this: "The scenario changed and now Argentina hopes to plant 5% more wheat to obtain a potential harvest of 18.1 million tons", from https://bichosdecampo.com/cambio-el...secha-potencial-de-181-millones-de-toneladas/. You can plant, but La Niña will have something to say about how much you harvest. We've been here before.

My characterization of Milei, and his entire clique's work-shy, publicity-seeking social-media bubble government seems to grate on you (though describing Milei as our "toddler president" seems to be one of my most accurate depictions ), so maybe we could compromise on this: in comparison to the effect nature has on Argentina's harvest, it doesn't really much matter what the government does.

I think I should mention that I didn’t intend that this topic become a political football, from my part it was an extrapolation from the ENSO observations of NOAA. Suky would like you to know that her pronouns are she / her and I’d like you to know that just one of Suky is quite enough, no cloning necessary or wanted like your presumptive favourite economist, thank you very much

And, while Suky is only 4 months old and such considerations are hopefully far away, I’m not sure what I would do if Suky spoke to me from the afterworld? Should I run for president in that case?
