Could be a bumpy night!

Yes,even the conservative Met office has come out with an informe especial.Extremely early for them,so that in itself says something. The strongest warnings come from a meteorologist in Brazil, who predicts a historic event. We are battening down the hatches of the boat and hope it does not come looking for us... ;) Keep informed,as the whole situation is volatile and unstable and could therefore change in a very short period of time.

Safe to unbatten the hatches now!

Storm has tracked east and expected to dissipate mid south Atlantic in the next few days - entirely normal

Nothing much expected in the next five days unless sailing well south or north

Animations are fun!

Thank you.like it! Good fun but already conditions have changed again and all models now show a miniature Xmas Eve scenario. No sailing from the old into the New Year as planned. :(

Aleina, which weather models are you watching?
If I'm not mistaken, this shows a system/s yet again running W to E, but far to the south of BA.
OGIMET

Viste.....! Fun site.Just think that other people are stuck in traffic jams to get to where you magically are...Seriously though it reads your internet provider and finds you the nearest node. As far as models are concerned I watch GFS for a general outlook and UKMET specifically for rain (years of experience in that department, jjeje) The technical explanation is that UKMET factors in convection better than GFS. Ihave not tried OGIMET.Thanks for the tip.

Phil, as you well know, the biggest safety hazards on any boat are:
Those who whistle incessantly and those prone to reciting limericks ad nauseum.

This should pass by the time we light the fire:
