The reasons why the Gov't confirms that it cannot give an official certificate to those who were vaccinated abroad. They ask to appear in the Nomivac, the official national vaccination registry. According to data compiled by Diario Clarín, there are more than 30,000 Argentines who traveled abroad to be immunized or participated in phase 3 studies. They complain because they did not receive the vaccination certificate issued through the platform MiArgentina. Specifically, those enrolled demand that the laboratories appear in the Nomivac in order to have their certificate. As sources from the National Ministry of Health reported, "people who traveled abroad and were vaccinated, as long as they do not have a special official certificate issued by that country, this cannot be taken as certification".
"If the certification was issued by the US National Institute of Health that is different, but it is something that they are not doing," added the same sources. According to spokespersons for the health portfolio "it is not the same situation that the vaccination can be certified as appropriate in our country, where we know what vaccine was given, when, and even the batch, to another who brings a document that we do not know of its veracity here". Among the cases mentioned by Clarín are those who traveled to the US to be vaccinated when doses were most lacking in ARG and received doses from brands already approved by the ANMAT, such as Moderna and Pfizer, and foreigners who were immunized in the country but do not have an Argentine DNI, such as employees of embassies and diplomats.
