Current Rules On Plane Tickets?

(the above quote has been edited for brevity)

OMFG. There is a tax on the tax?

That's just wrong.

On the back of the customs form you filled before landing here there was some fine print.

You are entering Argentina. You're hereby accepting that during your stay in Argentina you will give up all your expectations for reasonable rules, common sense, good customer service, most rational conversations, and most importantly the right to sell whatever amount of our weak currency you have left at the end of the trip. On your way back home, taxi drivers will take you to Casa Rosada so you can leave your leftover dollars or euros before going to Ezeiza.

Too bad they make you fill it up and sign it but they never ask you to hand it in.

I was looking at some Despegar tickets to Asia from Buenos Aires and one flight's price broke down like this:

FLIGHT: AR$11,234 (don't remember exactly)
TAX #1: AR$5,456
TAX#2: AR$5,555

TOTAL: AR$22,245

50% of the flight cost was from taxes and 50% was the cost of the flight. It ended up being cheaper to buy the ticket via Despegar.com.uy and then pay with a US credit card than to pay Despegar.com.ar using the Blue Dollar.
