I got this today from a travel security notice I get from work.

Just a warning to those who plan to travel that day.

Argentina:
Customs officials' strike on 26 May likely to delay international travel
Customs officials on 26 May have threatened to go on strike at all border crossings in the country in protest at various wage issues. Customs officials on 18 May staged a go-slow protest over the same issue, causing delays to international flights at the capital Buenos Aires' Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE). Should the 26 May walkout go ahead, delays to international travel are likely.

Argentina:
Small passenger plane crashes in Rio Negro province killing all aboard (Revised 10.00 GMT)
A passenger plane operated by Sol Líneas Aéreas on 18 May crashed near the town of Prahuaniyeu in Rio Negro province (Patagonia region). All 22 passengers, including three crew members, are believed to have been killed. The airline has stated that the cause of the crash remains unclear as yet. Air travel remains the safest and most convenient form of long-distance internal travel in the country.

LlET'S START A RUMOUR THAT THE AIRPLANE CRASH WAS CAUSED BY THE RUSH TO MAKE THE SCHEDULE DUE TO THE LATE INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS FOR THE DOMESTIC FLIGHT CUASED BY THE CUSTOMS SLOW-DOWN. IN THIS COUNTRY PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING.

Its the Immigration officials who were on strike - the Customs guys were still working

I saw the travel advise for yesterdays strike last week but it didnt concern me since I wasnt traveling that day. I am ticketed to arrive the early hrs of the 27th.

i tried posting a topic earlier but for some reason it never got approved. I received an email from my company's travel company that there will be a customs strike all weekend and of course im scheduled to arrive back in BA on sept 20. Anyone know what this means? Does it just mean i have to wait in a longer line or does it mean I can't pass through customs to exit the airport? I have to imagine the former but not sure if anyone has dealt with this before?

I thought you pass through immigration and customs are the people that search your bag and try to charge you duty. If it's "aduanas" then I don't think you have to work. (that means customs and its the people that check the bags). In English we confuse the term a lot.

Maybe people will have to leave their bags at the airport and pick them up when the strike is over. My advice is to wear two pairs of knickers on the flight here.

If Customs /Aduanas is on strike there will be delays to complete the customs process at the airport
