Debate: Bedbug or Tick

Bed bugs will leave bites in a row.. so there will be more than one bite. Ticks will attach, burry their head in your skin (somewhere dark and moist, in the hair, behind ears, under arms etc) and suck until they are full before dropping off, and i would be very surprised if they would be climbing the wall after a fed. Do you have a pic of the bug ?

I agree with amargo.
Why don´t you go to a public hospital, it´s for free.
Bed bugs is not an issue here. Sarna and fleas are more common if you have a dog, however sarna is more related to a lack of proper sanitation. If you have a shower every day there shouldn´t be any problem. Sarna is a homeless people issue. I had dogs my whole life and I never had issues with sarna.

Bed bugs are here, one place i stayed at had to have a whole floor of the building spayed. Then about 6 months later done it again because people were getting bitten..

Hospital. It hasn't given me a severe enough problem to warrant a trip to the hospital yet. In any event I'm changing beds.

No pets in the house. And yes I am not homeless, shower everyday, and wash my clothes. That's why I'm pretty sure it's not scabies.

I'm inclined to rule out ticks as well. Ticks and bedbugs look mighty similar. Why I strongly suspect bedbugs is the time of day that I saw both critters--bedbugs are typically most active in the madrugada. Although, the fact that the "bedbug" was out in the open like that is puzzling.

Another problem with my room is that is it carpeted with a very dark color making it next to impossible to spot out any critter.

One thing is certain. The second critter I found was definitely engorged with blood...

Come to think of it I did have a row of bites on my back near the waist line. Although this was only one time. They felt like many mosquito welts and the itching woke me up out of my sleep. Again another strike for bedbugs. I dismissed that incident to the milk.

Other than that the bites have been one here, one there.

Get yourself some gum tree branches with leaves and put under your bed, that will get rid of them - ticks, fleas, bedbugs, girlfriends, byfriends etc..

We always put the dog kennels under the gum trees for that reason - keeps the fleas and ticks away, and a pile of gum leaves in the dog box under the hay would do the same...

I have worked as a tree planter in Canada ... you would know if it was a tick or not after it burrows into the skin beneath your hairline, in your armpits, or in your groin area.

It may stay lodged under your skin, gorging on blood for awhile, afterwards, it will hang out.

As someone who has had ticks, and who knows you can only remove them with a combination of burning hot needles, I can safely say that it was probably not a tick.

Mosquito or flea. If you have bed bugs, you would also know. They bite you in long lines, along the seams of the mattress or couch. Also from experience, you would have a long, straightish line of bites.

No not positive. But if they were fleas wouldn't they be in my clothes too? Or not necessarily.

Also I don't regularly come into contact with animals. In fact in over three months I have only petted two dogs. But I did go to the cat park so.......

Ticks...regardless of the size will typically attach themselves to the host for days while they gorge themselves on blood.

What you describe sounds to me like bedbugs. They bite and leave small (itchy) red marks.

Okay I think it's safe to rule out ticks. No bugs in my armpits, etc, etc. Other options are fleas and bedbugs. Bedbugs make more sense to me. The bug that I killed yesterday definitely did not look like a flea. I've had two dogs before and a flea it was not. And the one last week was flat and "tickish" looking, which leads me to believe it was a bedbug. I'm inclined to agree with you.



Also has anyone figured out the word for "bedbug" in Argentine spanish?
