The article also says that it applies to just 200 people, presumably number of victims of state oppression can be quantified easily enough.

Not necessarily. Many of them resume living like "normal" men, after 40/45 years of age... when they find that they that have lost clients along with lost of youth. Its a very common phenomenon with Transexuals worldwide..

You seem to have a conceptual misunderstanding of what we do here on this forum. It's very simple: we get an article with a tenuous relationship to the truth, just read the headline, and then make sweeping assumptions about the implications.
C'mon people stick with the programme! Skim, assume and extrapolate. It's not that complicated.
