Has anyone seen American peanut butter in a grocery store lately? Would you please let me know where? Thanks much!

Which type of American peanut butter are you looking for, specifically? Canadian? Mexican? Nicaraguan? Guatemalan? Honduran? Costa Rican? Panamanian? Colombian? Venezuelan? Bolivian? Peruvian? Chilean? Brazilian? Ecuadorian? Paraguayan? Ecuadorian? Belizeian? Argentinean? or EEUUian?

Can we not get into this ridiculousness, please?
I beg your pardon if my quickly jotted question was not appropriately PC for you.
It wrote it for a serious reason:
I am a pregnant woman who is having trouble keeping any form of protein in my stomach with the exception of peanut butter. I desperately need to find any kind of the peanut butter produced in the United States of America (other forms don't seem to sit well with me). It is occasionally imported here and can be found in the larger supermarkets. If you happen to have seen some recently and can let me know where to look my husband, my obstetrician, my baby and I will thank you.

You don't need to go to Walmart. You can buy american peanut butter (Skippy I think is the brand) for sure in any Jumbo (and maybe carrefour). You can buy locally made peanut butter in many of the dieteticas or in the grocery stores in barrio chino--BC sells both kinds. The local versions are not processed/whipped in the same way as american peanut butters and have more of an natural (read separated) consistency. You can also make your own:http://reversevampire.vox.com/libra...ourself-some-damn-nut-butter-illustrated.html

good luck:)

A month ago I saw Skippy at the Martinez Carrefour. I'd say the best bet is to try Jumbo near Pacifico - it carries some imported goodies.

I'll keep on the lookout for Skippy. Good luck.

Why don't you just make it yourself, it's not tough, there are plenty of recipes available.

Ah ... it was a joke, poking fun at the people here who go bananas when anyone refers to the United States of America with the shortcut, America. It was not directed to you, but to the "every country on the continent is America" folks.

And by the way, if you want to stock up, you can order peanut butter (and a whole lot of other goodies) from Netgrocer online and have it mailed to you.

Don't forget Barrio Chino - Casa China is the name - I saw it there
