Of course, things don't work exactly that way but if the reserves are like 30 billions now, and reach 17 for a monetary base of 410 billions of pesos = 410/17 = 24

Is that related to the expired RUFO clause? (decision published the same day the RUFO clause expired)
 
Don't get the Expats overly excited - there isn't a one to one correspondence between reserves and currency value. The peso has depreciated more as a factor of the government's excessive money printing. The old supply and demand - make more of something and the price goes down - especially when there is no corresponding increase in demand, i.e. economic growth.
