Election In A Nutshell

With 97% of the voting counted, this link http://www.lanacion....icipio-y-comuna says that Scioli won BA Province roughly 37% to Macri's 33%.

Macri was up two points overall (the whole country) about midnight or so, but I watched it change the other way over the next couple of hours.

Massa said last night that he would support whoever won BA Province...

Well in his speech he gave the indication that he will support "change". We'll see. I don't see Massa supporting Scioli. His whole campaign and popularity is built on "Anti K". What his supporters will do is a different story altogether. We'll find out about Massa in the next couple of days as to which way he may be leaning.

EDIT:

I still think Scioli will most probably win this one by the way. Its an uphill battle for Macri.

Have some hope.

Macri is the winner on this election, clearly. But do not underestimate the Ks, not because of Scioli, not because the social plans, AUH, continuity of the model, etc, just because they are in power, they have a lot of power, media, resources of all kind, they can make and deny any "operacion politica", despite they couldnt revert the one on Anibal.
There still is a lot of credibility on Ks speeches, not only for K supporters, but for the rest of the society. Lets look some issues like debt and vultures, or the dictatorship, or the "Clarin miente" that did change the vision of the society towards them.

CFK follows Laclau to the letter. Ernesto Laclau The Argentina Master of the new progressive post-Marxism Populism. Friend and Foe theory.... Is CFK the female version of Don Quijote and the Windmills ??

A politician stays in office for a long time, and tries to stay as long as possible, and when she/he has to leave the office, he/she tries to arrange to have his/her people in control of the country, a classic trait of a crook. Recently we have: Boris Yeltsin, Vladimir Putin, Jiang Zemin, Hugo Chaves, who all had done the same.

Are we facing a Black Swan Event?

Not a black swan event (at least using Taleb's definition) given the event is neither surprising, nor rare (at least in the countries where democracy is handled "creatively").

Why cant they hold the run off next week or even the week after? But no, 4 weeks!
