Apart from being able to buy/sell dollars now in banks and casas de cambio, we'll be able to receive things from abroad without the rigmarole we used to have to tolerate. I believe the new import rules come into effect on 31st December if I'm not mistaken.
It's going to be interesting to see how we collectively manage buying from Amazon etc, particularly after this devaluation. I'm tempted to buy a few widgets just to see how it goes in January, if Amazon delivers to Argentina, that is. I imagine this message (below) will be amended in due course, hopefully.

The buying abroad page of AFIP probably needs updating.

The luxury (so called) car tax is being abolished at the end of this month.

Please report, how it'll go. Also if anyone bought dollars, official or not, please report here. I will need some soon and will be useful to know.

Citibank Argentina still doesn't allow to buy, they even disabled plazo fijo option these days, so not much is possible to do with them...

Some staggering figures here on how these 'luxury taxes' have affected the motor trade.

I have heard on a news channel a few minutes ago that import restrictions have not been lifted when buying online and it will not be changed in the future either.
