Will new eyeglasses improve your "view" of B.A.?

Don't go to the one hour place in Alto Palermo shopping (I looked on their map, it maybe Optiprix not sure). My husband had a pair made there, quite pricey and the lenses kept popping out....we went back a couple of times but they didn't fix them properly. They were supposed to be indestructible too, not so if you have a toddler, he finally put paid to them!

The best place for glasses is Pfortner Cornealent on Pueyrredon and Juncal. They do not do those 2 hour glasses but are the best you can find here.

I have never had a problem. There is a CEMIC shop on Talcahuano between Juncal and Arenales. They seem pretty responsible. Prices for glasses in BA are very expensive, comparable to the US or higher. If you have health insurance they will give you a discount but disreputable places may cheat you on this. Get Varilux lenses. They have a kind of watermark on the lenses that shows authenticity.
