So I've recently stumbled upon a fantastic bread bakery and thought I'd share....

Malvon Confiteria on Serrano 789 about 3 blocks from Corrientes opened a couple months back and the captivating smell of fresh bread enticed me on my way back from spanish lessons. I purchased a decent loaf of pumpernickel for 12 pesos and it lasted well over 5 days without getting the slightest bit hard. They also have a little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating on a quiet street in Villa Crespo and serve quiches as well as other homemade snacks.

Also, Baraka on Gurruchaga has excellent breads, but I find them heavy and a bit pricey. A loaf of integral bread cost 20 pesos and weighs A LOT. Their sandwiches are reasonably priced and quite big. The caprese with black olive tapenade is great for vegetarians.

Malvon is by far the winner.

Enjoy

If the bread doesn't get hard in 5 days and doesn't go bad, that's what I call sketchy bread.
