The question is whether the US prosecution will save soccer or destroy it. As an optimist, I'm hoping for the latter.

So the idea of group A freely consenting to pay money to see group B perform an art (that you find uninteresting), profoundly disturbs you.

Not sure what, then, bothers you about religion - your antipathy to this sport borders on the religious.
At least most reserve these feelings for deities (or at least phones).

Is that why when I went to my one and only baseball game most of the fans were too busy tucking into hotdogs and taking selfies of themselves to be interested in the game, which lets face it is just a glorified game of rounders.

Of course, when you went to your soccer game you had the excitement of making sure your gas mask was properly fitted.
