Although like one out of every ten buses has a wheelchair ramp, no matter. People will jump off the bus and get the chair on in no time. People are very respectful and helpful to those with limited movement or that are challenged in some way. The only thing they don't change is installing bathrooms on the ground floor.

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

Fortunately I doubt I'll take the bus anywhere thank goodness I've seen the "accessible" buses and stops. My fiancées family owns a handful of taxis and a ride is just a phone call and wait away maybe not most ideal way but It deff beats the bus.

To touch on getting around a bit I drive in US using hand controls if anyone knows can hand controls be used in BsAs if so I'd assume a special license is required also what does it take to get a license? Will an intl driving license work?

Thank goodness you can afford to travel around in taxis. As far as if hand controls can be used, or even if they're available, I'd think you'd have to ask at Direccion General de Licencias. You might have to go in person because if you call them you'll be waiting for an hour or more for someone to pick up and tell you they will have to transfer you to a different department who will never pick up. It's located on Roca 5252 in Villa Luro.

Thanks for info I'll have to have my girl find out before I arrive as far as hand controls even being available I didnt even think they would be or if so outrageously expensive I got my own that are universal to any automatic vehicle so my concern would be the legality or such of using them.

Sounds like this company Autodisc has the type of car you're looking for in Argentina

That's really cool looks fun too but any vehicle without a clutch just automatic transmission my personal hand controls will fit I could really buy any hunk of junk as long as it only got two pedals gas and brake.

For instance the set I got now went on my old honda and same ones went on my chevy truck. I was just curious of what hoops I'd have to jump through to make it legally happen.

Be very careful of buying used vehicles with automatic transmissions. These "modern" trannies are not well understood, grossly abused, and poorly serviced. The very few places that can work on them will charge you a fortune for parts and labor. It's best to buy new.

Most restaurants have their restrooms either upstairs or in the basement. I remember the first time that I went to "Kansas" on Libertador. I was really surprised that their facilities were on the main floor. Maybe a list of handicap friendly dining places can be mentioned?

There are almost none because the buildings are too old to supposedly install a bathroom on the ground floor. After I was operated on last year I wasn't allowed to climb the stairs for two months and this was a huge problem when I had to use the bathroom in public places. I usually convinced the staff of the restaurant to let me use the employees' bathroom on the ground floor. Starbucks is one of the few places that has a bathroom on the ground floor.
