Hello Guys,

I'm looking at flights for my mom to visit and the cheapest flights are with TAM via connection through Brazil. I know US citizens need a visa to enter Brazil, but what if its only for a connection flight to Argentina?

Thank you!!! Are you really sure? They dont require a transit visa like the US?

If she´s just staying inside the airport, she will probably need to fill out some sort of form (an immigration form?). I´m a US citizen, and when I travel to Hong Kong via Tokyo, the forms are always handed out before landing.

I imagine that the major airport there is designed so that the international connecting passengers can change from one international flight to another without needing to go through immigration or mix with domestic passengers at all. If she leaves the transit area and/or stays longer than 7 hours, she will need a transit visa: http://www.passportvisasexpress.com/brazil_transit_visa.xml

Of course if she decides to stay over in Brasil, even for a day or two, she will need the tourist visa: http://www.brasilemb.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=42&Itemid=155

Hope this helps!

I'll call TAM, the flight I'm looking for actually arrives at Aeropaque (AEP) not EZE which I think its even better.

I flew many times to BA via Sao Paulo (Guarulhos) and never went through inmigrations, which means you won't need a visa.

Those forms are for people not in transit.

I'd call TAM. That's the best advice.

Some countries don't have you fill out any immigration forms if you're passing through in transit, such as Chile. Other countries, like Canada, do have you fill out a form and stamp your passport.
