The other day I went to Cabana Villegas in Belgrano and on the menu they had Kobe beef. It was really good, both the quality of the beef and doneness. I'd like to eat it more often but at 400 pesos a pop its just way too expensive and I only had it since im leaving tomorrow and it was my last restaurant meal so I splurged. The point of all this is I found a place online that sells Kobe beef wholesale and its much cheaper. When I get back in February im going to have myself a kobe beef asado :)

Heres the link

Also, for anyone who lives near Belgrano I recommend Cabana Villegas. The service and quality are great and the prices are very reasonable especially for what you get. Its on pampa and la via

Kobe beef is one of the best things I have ever tried. The price is more than justified. Glad to know I can get it here.

what is kobe beef? I saw your link and it looks like regular beef

Kobe Beef products Argentina are the result of the merger between the unique marbling that gives the Wagyu breed of Japanese origin and its production in the country of the best beef in the world.

The Kobe Argentina brand beef is offered in at least a dozen restaurants . I would have to see a seal brand on it to Believe is Kobe, not regular meat. too many wise guys around. Better buy it and cook at home.

Just to clarify, the products sold as Kobe beef here in Argentina, as well as in most other countries are not Kobe beef, but meat of the Wagyu breed which originated in Japan. Its typically good meat, but its not even close to the original Kobe beef. If you have a chance to try the real deal (and a good bunch of $$$ as its super expensive) do it - no other meat comes even close in the taste and texture.

You beat me to the punch. The last time I checked, true Kobe beef (tenderloin) was wholesaling for $150/lb in USA. That's the cost to the restaurant.
