Francisco Pope Of The Poor??? Aparecida Brazil

Wonder full moving event in Copacabana today.

The Pope has plenty of messages for the world Governments and the Corporations to take care of the young, the poor and the the unemployed ...!! Preach and Practice. Charity starts at Home....!!

Suggest the Church sells the expensive real estate in towns worlwide and build emergency structures in the villas for the priests to be near the poor, with the proceeds build and operate Comedores. Sell The Nunciatura Palace in Avenida Alvear ,$$ could feed many.

Sell the fleet of limos and have the clegy ride the buses. The Think Tank of the Vatican should develop ideas on how to generate employment, like the Banco of the Poor from Mohamed Yunus http://en.wikipedia..../Muhammad_Yunus

Cut the living standards of the Curia Vaticana and bishops worlwide that lives high on the hog,far from the poor, be poor like St. Francis of Assisi was.

Can we seriously expect the powerful to voluntarily become the powerless?

The persecuted Christians became the new Emperors. would Jesus and the fishermen from Galilea have a place here?? Poverty vows....!

As an Argentine, from him to be received in Brazil with such levels of devotion and love, is in itself a miracle in the same league as the parting of the Red Sea by Moses or of Joshua stopping the Sun in the middle of the sky.

Whatever you think of him, there can be no question that he can bestow some mighty miracles.

When the church gets rid of it's embassies, disbands it bank, closes it's off shore trading accounts , divests it's positions in multinational corporations, opens it's secret libraries, releases it's stolen art and related treasures, drops the anti gay lobby, gets it's antiquated nose out national politics, stops with this sick form of slave labor with women [bride of christ, com'mon] I'll stop thinking it's nothing more than a business that pumps a product with no warantee. They have a deal better than the oil guys. The product never runs out, doesn't break, never up dates, can't be verified by the living and has no governmental oversight, quality control or regulation. And better yet they don't pay taxes on the profits.

Looks remarkably like a KKK meeting only this group prefers young boys.

But we must give them credit. They have to be geniuses to execute a business model like this and make it last for 2,000 years.

I really love the posts on this thread. Some additional thoughts:

Who paid for the Vatican? If the church had not supported the enslavement of the native Americans and sanctioned and shared in the stealing of their wealth, perhaps the native Americans would be flying to visit the pope instead of the opposite.

Typically papal visits are fund raisers often targeted at the poor. Is Francis continuing this tradition?

What would Jesus do? My guess is he'd cry for all the needless suffering his followers caused. I can't imagine him standing on Copacabana Beach and cheering.

Don't forget also taking Argentina tax payer's money to pay around 20,000 pesos a month to bishops just for being the most dominant fairy tale in the country (not to mention the allowance paid to seminary students) something that happens nowhere else in the world. Never heard him speak out about that outrage - no, we'll take your money thankyou very much. Then he has the nerve to attempt to censor an artist in Argentina for all Argentines on behalf of his cult and complains that tax payers money is funding the exhibition.

What would Jesus of the scriptures have done if they had approached him and said we have constructed this enormous hierarchy to mediate your message to the people, it has become obscenely rich over the years through some of the most unchristian behaviour imaginable and now we want you to be the head honcho? I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have said OK, but I'm not going to use the BMW X5, just a Ford Focus will do. I'm pretty sure he would've chucked a wobbly.

It seems that the expats on this forum aren't likely to be converts for Francis. Not surprising that we aren't good followers.
